Open Post: Who invented this calendar anyway?

How unfortunate.

Yes, Grantaire was fully aware that the year being longer at the mansion would logically cause seasons to drift when someone kept track of the old calendar, or at least what had been pinned down as the old calendar for convenience sake, which was almost necessary when people's arrivals weren't necessarily tied to the day they left. He hadn't given it too much thought last year, when his birthday, such that it was, arrived in spring like he was used to.

Dark, though, was unfortunate. Not inappropriate for the next notable anniversary coming up, but for this one, not at all. Of course, it wasn't as if he would have been planning much in the way of an event, Dark or no, but it would have been nice to treat himself to something or other, regardless.

Instead, he has installed himself in the game room, where he is carefully balancing dominoes on their ends to make a domino rally on the billiards table. It's a nice large flat surface, so it should work nicely. Have to keep entertained somehow.

Dionysus presses in very close, letting his hands wander. At a certain point he starts letting his lips wander too, leaving kisses and biting along Grantaire's neck and collarbones.

He laughs a little and stays put, launching the next pinball behind his back and deciding to randomly smack the paddle buttons and see how long that ball lasts. He's certainly enjoying himself a bit too much to actually turn around.

When Dionysus realizes what Grantaire is doing he also starts laughing, but it honestly just encourages him more, because now he also is curious about how long the game will last like this.

The answer is 'not terribly long', sad to say, although he does manage to rack up at least a few points from lucky contact before it falls again. "What a pity. I think I need a kiss to brighten my spirits."

"I think I can manage that," he says before kissing him again, as if he hasn't been continually kissing him for the past however many minutes.

[futaille]

"So accommodating." He returns to kissing Dionysus.

[vineleaves]

"You know me," another kiss, "always accommodating."

[futaille]

"How fortunate for me."

[vineleaves]

"It's what you deserve."

[futaille]

"Oh, yes, of course, just what I always say."

[vineleaves]

"It's what I always say."

[futaille]

"That is undeniably true."

[vineleaves]

"That's what I'm here for, to make sure you get things you deserve, so that you can sit back and not worry about it."

[futaille]

"That's a bit unwieldy to put after 'god of'."

[vineleaves]

"Not nearly as catchy as 'chalance'."

[futaille]

"I suppose you could shorten it to initials, but that would play havoc with the translation."

[vineleaves]

"We could just make up a whole new word for it, and then go around saying it to different people and see what the translator does with it."

[futaille]

"Oh, I love it. Did you have a word in mind?"

[vineleaves]

"Haven't gotten that far yet. Do you?"

[futaille]

"Not in the least!"

[vineleaves]

"I'm sure if we put our heads together we can come up with something." And by 'put their heads together' he means more kissing.

[futaille]

That demonstrably qualifies as putting their heads together, in quite a literal fashion. So he quite happily gives Dionysus a kiss.

[vineleaves]

"Hmm, I see a flaw in this plan," he says once they part.

[futaille]

"What's that?"

[vineleaves]

"It's really difficult to think up words if I'm kissing you."
