Open Post: Who invented this calendar anyway?

How unfortunate.

Yes, Grantaire was fully aware that the year being longer at the mansion would logically cause seasons to drift when someone kept track of the old calendar, or at least what had been pinned down as the old calendar for convenience sake, which was almost necessary when people's arrivals weren't necessarily tied to the day they left. He hadn't given it too much thought last year, when his birthday, such that it was, arrived in spring like he was used to.

Dark, though, was unfortunate. Not inappropriate for the next notable anniversary coming up, but for this one, not at all. Of course, it wasn't as if he would have been planning much in the way of an event, Dark or no, but it would have been nice to treat himself to something or other, regardless.

Instead, he has installed himself in the game room, where he is carefully balancing dominoes on their ends to make a domino rally on the billiards table. It's a nice large flat surface, so it should work nicely. Have to keep entertained somehow.

“I’ll pay you tomorrow when I haven’t moved a pinball machine all around,” he laughs.

"I am completely willing to accept payment in a thousand sweet kisses."

[vineleaves]

Dionysus' face splits into a huge grin and he starts singing, "I've longed to discover something as true as this is. So with a thousand sweet kisses, if you're cold and you're lonely," he spins Grantaire around so he can kiss him, "With a thousand sweet kisses, you've got one nickel only," another kiss, "With a thousand sweet kisses, when you're worn out and tired," another kiss, "With a thousand sweet kisses, I'll cover you," another kiss, "Oh lover, I'll cover you, yeah, oh lover, I'll cover you..." And of course, another kiss.

It's all Grantaire can do not to burst into giggles during this cavalcade of musically-accompanied kisses. He slides his arms around Dionysus and gives him one more kiss.

[vineleaves]

"I love you," he says, practically hanging off of Grantaire.

[futaille]

"I love you too. Obviously."

[vineleaves]

"Sorry for distracting you from your game, you can get back to it if you want."

[futaille]

"Eh. It's not going anywhere." Another kiss.

[vineleaves]

He's certainly not going to say no to more kisses.

[futaille]

Oh good. Because in that case he's getting a few more, even.

[vineleaves]

Dionysus presses in very close, letting his hands wander. At a certain point he starts letting his lips wander too, leaving kisses and biting along Grantaire's neck and collarbones.

[futaille]

He laughs a little and stays put, launching the next pinball behind his back and deciding to randomly smack the paddle buttons and see how long that ball lasts. He's certainly enjoying himself a bit too much to actually turn around.

[vineleaves]

When Dionysus realizes what Grantaire is doing he also starts laughing, but it honestly just encourages him more, because now he also is curious about how long the game will last like this.

[futaille]

The answer is 'not terribly long', sad to say, although he does manage to rack up at least a few points from lucky contact before it falls again. "What a pity. I think I need a kiss to brighten my spirits."

[vineleaves]

"I think I can manage that," he says before kissing him again, as if he hasn't been continually kissing him for the past however many minutes.

[futaille]

"So accommodating." He returns to kissing Dionysus.

[vineleaves]

"You know me," another kiss, "always accommodating."

[futaille]

"How fortunate for me."

[vineleaves]

"It's what you deserve."

[futaille]

"Oh, yes, of course, just what I always say."

[vineleaves]

"It's what I always say."

[futaille]

"That is undeniably true."

[vineleaves]

"That's what I'm here for, to make sure you get things you deserve, so that you can sit back and not worry about it."

[futaille]

"That's a bit unwieldy to put after 'god of'."

[vineleaves]

"Not nearly as catchy as 'chalance'."
