Open Post: Who invented this calendar anyway?

How unfortunate.

Yes, Grantaire was fully aware that the year being longer at the mansion would logically cause seasons to drift when someone kept track of the old calendar, or at least what had been pinned down as the old calendar for convenience sake, which was almost necessary when people's arrivals weren't necessarily tied to the day they left. He hadn't given it too much thought last year, when his birthday, such that it was, arrived in spring like he was used to.

Dark, though, was unfortunate. Not inappropriate for the next notable anniversary coming up, but for this one, not at all. Of course, it wasn't as if he would have been planning much in the way of an event, Dark or no, but it would have been nice to treat himself to something or other, regardless.

Instead, he has installed himself in the game room, where he is carefully balancing dominoes on their ends to make a domino rally on the billiards table. It's a nice large flat surface, so it should work nicely. Have to keep entertained somehow.

"To watch you? Literally always."

His smile grows more than a bit mischievous as he promptly discards both waistcoat and shirt, tossing them on top of his forgotten dominoes on the pool table before taking his place at the pinball machine.

"Ooh, I've suddenly become a thousand percent more interested in pinball."

He is... watching...

[futaille]

"Only a thousand? I'll have to do better." He spends some time doing some utterly gratuitous stretches before starting the game up.

[vineleaves]

“Oh sorry, I must have temporarily forgotten how to speak French. I meant a billion percent.”

[futaille]

He laughs and launches his first ball. "That makes perfect sense. I temporarily forget how to speak French somewhat frequently."

[vineleaves]

“And here I was starting to think it was just Dark affecting my language skills,” he says, not taking his eyes off of the muscles in Grantaire’s back as he operates the game.

[futaille]

He grins as he plays, being relatively sedate in his play as he gets used to the quirks of the board. "I can also say you're frequently the cause of me temporarily forgetting how to speak French."

[vineleaves]

Innocently, “Oh, well, I can stop, if you want.”

[futaille]

"I don't recall asking you to."

[vineleaves]

“I mean I don’t want to inconvenience you, or anything.”

[futaille]

"Inconvenience is the absolute last word I would use to describe that."

[vineleaves]

“Oh?” He wraps his arms around Grantaire’s torso and kisses his back, between his shoulder blades. “Is it, now?”

[futaille]

"Oh yes." Grantaire leans back a bit against Dionysus. He promptly loses the ball but he doesn't care.

[vineleaves]

“Oh no, am I making you loose your game?” he asks genuinely.

[futaille]

"Oh, you're fine. I'm guaranteed to get the high score."

[vineleaves]

“You should teach me how to play pinball after you’re done setting the high score,” he says, clearly meaning it in a way that he doesn’t expect much actual learning to occur.

"Oh, you don't already know?"

[vineleaves]

He does. “I need a professional to show me what to do.”

[futaille]

"Wait, do I get paid for this now? Someone clearly forgot to inform me."

[vineleaves]

Dionysus sighs. “I’m too tired right now to make a bunch of gold coins for you, but just know I want to.”

[futaille]

"I appreciate the thought nonetheless."

[vineleaves]

“I’ll pay you tomorrow when I haven’t moved a pinball machine all around,” he laughs.

[futaille]

"I am completely willing to accept payment in a thousand sweet kisses."

[vineleaves]

Dionysus' face splits into a huge grin and he starts singing, "I've longed to discover something as true as this is. So with a thousand sweet kisses, if you're cold and you're lonely," he spins Grantaire around so he can kiss him, "With a thousand sweet kisses, you've got one nickel only," another kiss, "With a thousand sweet kisses, when you're worn out and tired," another kiss, "With a thousand sweet kisses, I'll cover you," another kiss, "Oh lover, I'll cover you, yeah, oh lover, I'll cover you..." And of course, another kiss.
