Now that things have managed to settle down after the havoc of this month's event from the mansion spirits, Grantaire has set his sights on a much more organic event. He did as promised and improved upon Enjolras' early attempt at a flier. It even passed Apollo's judgment and was printed. So now Grantaire is dutifully walking around the mansion with a stack of fliers to post them in whatever public areas he comes across, even venturing outside to hang them up in outbuildings, and enough were printed that there are plenty of extras to be handed out personally if anyone seems curious.

He's of course sure not everyone will come, but the more people do, the more it will seem right, as far as he's concerned, so he's perfectly willing to pitch the event to anyone who seems the least bit amenable to one. Apparently he can stay on task with proper motivation.

"Off the books then," Crowley offers. "Any debate, as long as it's entertaining."

[futaille]

He grins. "Absolutely."

[aflashbastard]

Crowley looks at the flier again, contemplative. "Who do you think would be the most annoyed if I just debated them and only them the whole time?"

[futaille]

"It's hard to tell since I don't know everyone who's going to be there¹," he says thoughtfully.

¹ Of course, his first thought was 'Enjolras', but Grantaire would arguably be more annoyed that all of E's time was taken by Crowley's incessant debating, so that will not be a suggestion.

[aflashbastard]

"So we're thinking more of a hitman strategy here," Crowley muses. "You point out the target and I'll, er, debate cordially."

[futaille]

"Perfect. Of course, if you spot a target before I point one out, don't let me stop you." He pauses. "Except Enjolras. That might cut into my debate time."

[aflashbastard]

"Oh, I should debate Enjolras?" Crowley asks, with a perfectly straight face. "Sure. If you insist."

[futaille]

"That was certainly one interpretation of what I just said. A very creative one."

[aflashbastard]

"I was supposed to be interpreting what you said?" Crowley asks, now checking out the bottles of wine that are at the bar. "Did the translator break again?"

[futaille]

"I think you took it upon yourself. I'm fairly confident the translator is fine."

[aflashbastard]

"Hm? I can't understand you. Wine?" Crowley asks innocently, having finally selected a white wine. That usually means he's in a good mood.

[futaille]

As a dedicated troll himself, he is fully aware of what Crowley is doing, but Crowley is so very good at it that there's still a stream of objections burbling up in the back of his head. But he nevertheless nods. "Wine. Always."

[aflashbastard]

Crowley chills the wine with a thought and pours two glasses, handing one to Grantaire. "That was my audition, by the way," he says, settling into a chair and lounging in a slightly uncomfortable-looking position. "For the role of 'the person who says false things at the meeting with utter conviction just to make the other person mad'."

[futaille]

He laughs at that. He really can't help but to, really. "Excellently done, in that case. You've passed your audition easily, then." He takes a sip of his wine.

[aflashbastard]

“I’m assuming the meeting is Enjolras’s idea?” Crowley asks, taking a sip of his own wine. “He seems like an Organizer.”

[futaille]

Grantaire nods around another sip of his own. "More or less, yes. I might have come up with it myself eventually if he didn't, though."

[aflashbastard]

After a thoughtful moment, "Do you agree with what he said at the talent show? If we're all stuck here for the really long run, we can all live in peace and harmony or whatever?"

[futaille]

He takes a long drink of his wine as he mulls over the question. "I think... I think that if it's possible that it could happen anywhere, this place has the best chance at it. Not many people and all our needs taken care of." He shrugs. "Depends on a lot, though. Who shows up in the future, if our mysterious keepers turn more malevolent, any number of things. So... Maybe?"

[aflashbastard]

"Mm," with another sip of wine. "I suppose we should be happy my visitor didn't stay."

[futaille]

"Not a pleasant visitor, then?"

[aflashbastard]

"Hastur, Duke of Hell. Evil incarnate. Literally." Crowley muses for a second. "There's always a balance of good and evil. I find it interesting that the people, er, chosen for this place-- they're mostly good."<sup>1

1</sup>Yeah, who would ever choose to bring evil into this place??

[futaille]

"Evil incarnate and only manages a dukedom in Hell. Those must be some exacting standards." He shrugs. "As for the balance of good and evil here, I suppose you'd be an expert. I think like most people, most of us are somewhere in the middle, though."

[aflashbastard]

"Mm, I think the balance here tips a bit more towards good. A surprising amount of people have done some rather heroic things. Defeated gods... saved worlds..."

[futaille]

"Well, at least there are some of us who lived much more mundane lives."

[aflashbastard]

"So are you saying you're right in the middle of bad and good?" Crowley gives him a scrutinizing look.
