Now that things have managed to settle down after the havoc of this month's event from the mansion spirits, Grantaire has set his sights on a much more organic event. He did as promised and improved upon Enjolras' early attempt at a flier. It even passed Apollo's judgment and was printed. So now Grantaire is dutifully walking around the mansion with a stack of fliers to post them in whatever public areas he comes across, even venturing outside to hang them up in outbuildings, and enough were printed that there are plenty of extras to be handed out personally if anyone seems curious.

He's of course sure not everyone will come, but the more people do, the more it will seem right, as far as he's concerned, so he's perfectly willing to pitch the event to anyone who seems the least bit amenable to one. Apparently he can stay on task with proper motivation.

"Not a pleasant visitor, then?"

[aflashbastard]

"Hastur, Duke of Hell. Evil incarnate. Literally." Crowley muses for a second. "There's always a balance of good and evil. I find it interesting that the people, er, chosen for this place-- they're mostly good."<sup>1

1</sup>Yeah, who would ever choose to bring evil into this place??

[futaille]

"Evil incarnate and only manages a dukedom in Hell. Those must be some exacting standards." He shrugs. "As for the balance of good and evil here, I suppose you'd be an expert. I think like most people, most of us are somewhere in the middle, though."

[aflashbastard]

"Mm, I think the balance here tips a bit more towards good. A surprising amount of people have done some rather heroic things. Defeated gods... saved worlds..."

[futaille]

"Well, at least there are some of us who lived much more mundane lives."

[aflashbastard]

"So are you saying you're right in the middle of bad and good?" Crowley gives him a scrutinizing look.

[futaille]

"I don't know about right in the middle, as I'm not particularly inclined towards moderation in any case, but I think most people are a messy muddle of both."

[aflashbastard]

"Yeah, definitely," Crowley agrees, with another sip of wine. "But there is some sort of scale. At least in my world. That's how it was decided, you know, you know, who went where."

[futaille]

"Oh, yes, I assumed so. I also assume most people are awful ad judging their own place on that scale."

[aflashbastard]

"Exactly. There's much less emphasis on certain vices and, well, homosexuality than some would have you believe," he says with a little eyeroll, showing exactly how he feels about that.

[futaille]

His eyebrows rise. "I'll admit to some surprise. Of course, there's an argument to be made that of course a demon would say so. I'm not the one to make it, though."

[aflashbastard]

"I honestly don't think She cares much," Crowley shrugs. "Most angels and demons barely understand human gender, I think their grasp of human sexuality is even looser."

[futaille]

"I think after a few months here, I'm somewhat less surprised to hear that about angels and demons than I would have been before. Even if I had accepted, for argument's sake, the existence of angels and demons at the time."

[aflashbastard]

"Let's not have anything to do with angels and demons and arguments," Crowley says dryly, but it's clearly a joke. "I've had enough of that."

[futaille]

He laughs. "Oh, I'm sure."

[aflashbastard]

He pours himself a second glass of wine, gesturing to see if Grantaire would like a top off as well (we will, of course, assume he does). "Aside from the upcoming meeting, what's new?"<sup>1

1</sup>When Crowley's in a good mood, he actually asks how people are doing!

[futaille]

"Not too much." He sips his wine. "Keeping my pinball high score defended. Clearly a priority."

[aflashbastard]

"A pinball fanatic, hmm? Did they have that in your time?"

[futaille]

He shakes his head. "There were some things I think may have evolved into it, but pinball itself I discovered here and took a liking to."

[aflashbastard]

"Lots of pinball and drinking, then?"

[futaille]

He grins. "Oh, of course. Sagramore and I devised a new drinking game."

[aflashbastard]

"Do tell," he says, leaning in slightly.

[futaille]

"I mean, it's entirely possible, even likely, that others have come up with it before us, but it's new to us, so it counts. We have three glasses full of ingredients written down, an alcohol, a mix, and a... wild card, if you will. Draw randomly, mix, and... dubious enjoyment. Especially since the mansion spirits have apparently decided to add ingredients to the pool."

[aflashbastard]

Crowley raises an eyebrow, intrigued. “Sounds dangerous - but mostly harmless. What all have you had?”

[futaille]

"I would not recommend mixing Mountain Dew and wintergreen Lifesavers, regardless of what alcohol it gets paired with. Also... have you heard of durian?"
