Open Post: La savate et le chausson

Much to his satisfaction, Grantaire has been able to keep up with many of his hobbies unabated during his time at the mansion. Not all of them, though, mostly because they were ones he'd go to specific spots for, and with those spots not being here in addition to an abundance of his other hobbies, they more or less fell by the wayside.

However, a recent chat with Dionysus has reminded him that he has very much neglected his 'hitting things' level. Although he didn't find a crash test dummy, the thought being on his mind ended up in him stumbling upon a small gym tucked away, complete with some equipment including a standing punching bag.

So he's discarded his waistcoat and cravat over a bench and is practicing his savate¹.

¹French kickboxing! During R's time it was basically for streetfighting, and just beginning to get formalized, but there are some cool vintage videos on youtube (Here and here) to give the... vibe.

"Do you feel alright with your eyes closed?"

[futaille]

He nods. "I can still see some of it. But it's darker."

[vineleaves]

"Well -- like I said, if it gets worse just let me know, I can make it stop." He lifts Grantaire's chin so that he can give him a slow kiss.

[futaille]

He kisses back, clinging to Dionysus almost helplessly. "It's all right," he murmurs as they part. "As I said, I made the choice."

[vineleaves]

"Doesn't mean you can't change your mind," he says lightly, wrapping his arms more tightly around Grantaire. "But if you're okay then that's all that matters."

[futaille]

"I'm all right." He manages a little laugh, secure as he is in Dionysus's arms. "I've had worse."

[vineleaves]

"Still. Maybe it'll shift soon and change to something more enjoyable." Another kiss.

[futaille]

"I admit the surprise kisses are already enjoyable."

[vineleaves]

"Surely kisses from me aren't that much of a surprise," he says before, of course, giving Grantaire another quick kiss. "It's one of my favorite things to do, after all."

"What are your other favorite things to do?"

[vineleaves]

“Let’s see… I like to listen to you talk, I like to play with your hair, I like to snuggle, I like to —“ and here he lists a handful of things which would undoubtedly change the rating of this thread and are therefore none of this typist’s business, as usual. He at least words them very sweetly, probably.

[futaille]

Grantaire laughs at that, list, truly delighted. He chances opening his eyes. "It's not as bright... but your face is upside down."

[vineleaves]

He laughs. “I’m glad it’s not as bright anymore at least!”

[futaille]

"I can't decide whether I should look at your mouth knowing your eyes are actually there or at your eyes knowing that it would look like I'm staring at your mouth."

[vineleaves]

“Hmm, you can look wherever you want,” he says softly.

[futaille]

He nods solemnly. "Your nose then. Same place."

[vineleaves]

“That works for me,” he says and then snuggles closer. Somehow.

[futaille]

"You're beautiful even with your face upside down," he pronounces.

[vineleaves]

He blushes a little. "That's so sweet of you to say, thank you love. High praise coming from the most beautiful man I know."

[futaille]

He laughs and it's a borderline giggle. "You're welcome. But I'm not hallucinating that much."

[vineleaves]

"I wasn't lying."

[futaille]

"No, no, not lying. Mistaken, though. I can think of... at least a dozen more beautiful men here."

[vineleaves]

"We do have a lot of eye candy here, don't we? But you're the most beautiful."

[futaille]

He ducks his head a little. "If you say so."

[vineleaves]

Dionysus catches Grantaire's chin and gently lifts his head so he can kiss him again.
