Much to his satisfaction, Grantaire has been able to keep up with many of his hobbies unabated during his time at the mansion. Not all of them, though, mostly because they were ones he'd go to specific spots for, and with those spots not being here in addition to an abundance of his other hobbies, they more or less fell by the wayside.

However, a recent chat with Dionysus has reminded him that he has very much neglected his 'hitting things' level. Although he didn't find a crash test dummy, the thought being on his mind ended up in him stumbling upon a small gym tucked away, complete with some equipment including a standing punching bag.

So he's discarded his waistcoat and cravat over a bench and is practicing his savate¹.

¹French kickboxing! During R's time it was basically for streetfighting, and just beginning to get formalized, but there are some cool vintage videos on youtube (Here and here) to give the... vibe.

"It would be extremely amusing to have to grab a ladder every time you scored."

"It would...definitely interrupt the flow of the game some."

"Oh, probably! I take it that it's a particularly fast-paced game, then?"

[papadopoulos]

"Yeah. The goal is whoever gets the most points wins; there's two baskets, one on either end of the court. One team goes to one, the opposing team tries to stop them and also tries to go to the other."

"That sounds simple enough."

[papadopoulos]

"Yeah. Maybe I'll teach you sometime, if you're interested."

"I'd be delighted! Always happy to learn a new game."

[papadopoulos]

"Yeah? You a big games guy?"

[futaille]

"I like entertainment."

[papadopoulos]

"Well fortunately for you, I'm the god of entertainment."

[futaille]

"I feel I'm obligated to point out that you're not the god of all entertainment."

[papadopoulos]

“Okay, yeah, but a majority of them.”

[futaille]

"A large proportion, I'm perfectly happy to admit."

[papadopoulos]

"Thank you."

[futaille]

"Oh, do you not get your proper credit frequently enough for your liking?"

[papadopoulos]

"These days? Not so much." He's joking, mostly. "But it's worth it to hear the songs and poems people can come up with if I hang around with them enough."

"So, is just being in your general vicinity enough to make someone a master, then?"

[papadopoulos]

"Oh -- I mean, it doesn't hurt in that respect; but mostly it's just because I like encouraging talented people already."

[futaille]

"I'd say it would be much more interesting to encourage the untalented people and see what happens then."

[papadopoulos]

"You --do have a way of causing chaos, don't you?" He's mostly amused by it, don't worry.

[futaille]

"I just think the untalented people could probably use the help more."

[papadopoulos]

“I mean, probably, but if they don’t like music, what am I supposed to do then?”

[futaille]

"Then find an untalented person who does like music?"
