Much to his satisfaction, Grantaire has been able to keep up with many of his hobbies unabated during his time at the mansion. Not all of them, though, mostly because they were ones he'd go to specific spots for, and with those spots not being here in addition to an abundance of his other hobbies, they more or less fell by the wayside.

However, a recent chat with Dionysus has reminded him that he has very much neglected his 'hitting things' level. Although he didn't find a crash test dummy, the thought being on his mind ended up in him stumbling upon a small gym tucked away, complete with some equipment including a standing punching bag.

So he's discarded his waistcoat and cravat over a bench and is practicing his savate¹.

¹French kickboxing! During R's time it was basically for streetfighting, and just beginning to get formalized, but there are some cool vintage videos on youtube (Here and here) to give the... vibe.

"Surprise me."

He makes a glass of one of Grantaire’s favorite wines and hands it over. “No cheese this time,” he laughs.

[futaille]

He takes the glass and has a long drink from it, draining it halfway almost immediately. "Perfect."

Dionysus finishes off the last of his own kykeon, then refills his glass with the same wine he just gave Grantaire and similarly has a long sip of it as well. “Easier to drink, that’s for sure.”

[futaille]

"I'm no expert," he remarks before finishing the glass, "but it may be the lack of cheese."

[sagramore]

"Oh, well-said! Very clever. You're a wordsmith as well as an artist."

[futaille]

"Words are no less play tokens than dominoes or billiard balls."

[sagramore]

"Certainly they are in your hands."

[futaille]

"Oh, come now. Talking is so easy that even babies learn how to do it quickly."

[vineleaves]

“Are you sure?” He asks, a giggle creeping its way into his voice. “But cheese is normally so easy to drink!” He finishes his glass as well, then refills both.

[sagramore]

"Ah, but do babies do it well?"

[futaille]

He would undoubtedly make a 'no whey' joke here if it worked in French, but it doesn't, which is a shame. "It depends on the cheese, I suppose."

[futaille]

"I'd say that by the time they're five or so, there's a good deal of aptitude."

[vineleaves]

“And whether or not it’s melted. Oh — I should’ve gotten us snackies from a kitchen before we came in here.” He’s thinking about nachos.

[futaille]

"If you'd like to go get snacks, you can." He has another drink.

[vineleaves]

“Don’t want to leave you alone if you’re still hallucinating.”

[futaille]

"I'll be fine. Your face is mostly where it should be now."

[vineleaves]

“I’ll go in a few minutes when everything is back to normal, okay?”

[futaille]

"But snacks sound nice. It's not as if I haven't hallucinated alone before. I've had cheap absinthe."

[vineleaves]

“I’m not leaving you alone while you’re hallucinating,” he says. Nothing’s ever guaranteed to not suddenly turn sour, even if he’s almost through it all. Dionysus knows better than most people how bad hallucinations can be, albeit for different reasons. Thanks Hera. “We can wait and I’ll go get snacks in a few minutes, or I can make you stop hallucinating and go get some right now.”

"It's up to you, I suppose. I still think I'd be fine, though."

[sagramore]

"You really think you speak no more artfully than a five-year-old?"

[futaille]

"I didn't say that. But given that most people can speak perfectly adequately at a very young age, it's not surprising that a couple more decades just improves upon things."

[sagramore]

"Art like an aged cheese."

[futaille]

"Oh, an aged cheese sounds delicious right now." He carefully adds a few smoke curls to the fire.
