Open Post: La savate et le chausson

Much to his satisfaction, Grantaire has been able to keep up with many of his hobbies unabated during his time at the mansion. Not all of them, though, mostly because they were ones he'd go to specific spots for, and with those spots not being here in addition to an abundance of his other hobbies, they more or less fell by the wayside.

However, a recent chat with Dionysus has reminded him that he has very much neglected his 'hitting things' level. Although he didn't find a crash test dummy, the thought being on his mind ended up in him stumbling upon a small gym tucked away, complete with some equipment including a standing punching bag.

So he's discarded his waistcoat and cravat over a bench and is practicing his savate¹.

¹French kickboxing! During R's time it was basically for streetfighting, and just beginning to get formalized, but there are some cool vintage videos on youtube (Here and here) to give the... vibe.

"Very well. I'm ready."

[futaille]

He nods. In the absence of a palette, he promptly pours some of the goop into his free palm, his nose wrinkling a bit as he does so, before he sets the bottle down, dipping his fingertip into it, and experimentally drawing a line on the door.

[sagramore]

Sagramore sighs, but he dips his own fingers into the goop and begins painting vaguely flame-shaped lines on the door.

[futaille]

Grantaire promptly turns his first line into a flame of its own, continuing on into drawing more.

[vineleaves]

“Hmm, you can look wherever you want,” he says softly.

[futaille]

He nods solemnly. "Your nose then. Same place."

[vineleaves]

“That works for me,” he says and then snuggles closer. Somehow.

[futaille]

"You're beautiful even with your face upside down," he pronounces.

[sagramore]

As they continue he is forced to pick up the bottle and pour more of the so-called paint out for use. He is, arguably, still painting fire, but since he's not a very good artist it's not enormously obvious.

[futaille]

He hardly minds. In fact, he makes sure to come once Sagramore is done with a section and make his bits look more fiery with the addition of a line here or a curve there, in the spirit of collaboration.

[vineleaves]

He blushes a little. "That's so sweet of you to say, thank you love. High praise coming from the most beautiful man I know."

[futaille]

He laughs and it's a borderline giggle. "You're welcome. But I'm not hallucinating that much."

[sagramore]

"Oh, that's very good, that really does help--"

[vineleaves]

"I wasn't lying."

[futaille]

"I shall happily continue to feed your flames."

[futaille]

"No, no, not lying. Mistaken, though. I can think of... at least a dozen more beautiful men here."

[vineleaves]

"We do have a lot of eye candy here, don't we? But you're the most beautiful."

[futaille]

He ducks his head a little. "If you say so."

[vineleaves]

Dionysus catches Grantaire's chin and gently lifts his head so he can kiss him again.

[futaille]

He kisses Dionysus back, of course, although he closes his eyes immediately as it would be very weird otherwise with the whole upside-down face thing.

[vineleaves]

He draws the kiss out for a while. When they finally separate he says, "Sorry for making you kiss my eyeballs."

[futaille]

He grins. "I couldn't see it, so it clearly wasn't happening."

[vineleaves]

"As long as my kisses don't start to feel like you're kissing an eyeball I think we're okay. I think I'd have to stop the hallucinations at that point just out of sheer respect for my reputation."

[futaille]

"If it comes to that, I'll let you know, I assure you."

[vineleaves]

"Do you want anything else to drink?" he asks, because the god of Wine makes choices this typist thinks are bad sometimes.
