Much to his satisfaction, Grantaire has been able to keep up with many of his hobbies unabated during his time at the mansion. Not all of them, though, mostly because they were ones he'd go to specific spots for, and with those spots not being here in addition to an abundance of his other hobbies, they more or less fell by the wayside.

However, a recent chat with Dionysus has reminded him that he has very much neglected his 'hitting things' level. Although he didn't find a crash test dummy, the thought being on his mind ended up in him stumbling upon a small gym tucked away, complete with some equipment including a standing punching bag.

So he's discarded his waistcoat and cravat over a bench and is practicing his savate¹.

¹French kickboxing! During R's time it was basically for streetfighting, and just beginning to get formalized, but there are some cool vintage videos on youtube (Here and here) to give the... vibe.

"It may end up being worth it in the end, but I agree that it would be preferable simply to find an already extant hill."

"I guess I could just make a ramp out of vines."

"You could! I had not considered that option!"

"Easier than digging up and then mounding a bunch of dirt, or whatever your plan was."

"Well, I was thinking of recruiting Temeraire to help, at least."

[vineleaves]

"Temeraire could be the hill."

[futaille]

"I would be worried about the scales wounding the bubble wrap too early."

"Backward whip kick," says Kade. This effort is slightly less serviceable, and he nearly overbalances. "Oof. Got any tips for me?"

[vineleaves]

"That's fair, I suppose. We have such precious little of the bubble wrap, after all."

[futaille]

"Don't get too overzealous with it. Mind your center of balance. Your body should, for the most part, stay upright and above your planted leg." He demonstrates.

[futaille]

"Well, we shall consider the dragon if our other options are exhausted."

[vineleaves]

"He's such a little sweetheart. ...Little giant sweetheart."

[futaille]

"It's a little funny. We arrived from different years, but I think we would have been around the same age."

[vineleaves]

“You don’t suppose he’s a long lost twin, do you?”

[futaille]

"Oh, yes. The resemblance is uncanny, isn't it?"

"Another facet of its impossibility," Lan Wangji suggests, content for now to give Grantaire occasional fodder with which to spin his web of words.

“Don’t even know how anyone could tell there was a difference when you two swapped bodies.”

"It makes one wonder if perfection is thus by its very nature imperfect, if there's perfection in imperfection, in a way, or if that just makes another version of a liar's paradox."

[futaille]

"It was truly inexplicable."

[lightbearinglord]

"Liar's paradox?" he dutifully prompts Grantaire.

He grins. "This sentence is a lie."

[kadewest]

"Right, right." It really has been a while since Kade has fought, and he was always more blade-focused. He tries again though, a couple of times, until he gets the movement down.

[vineleaves]

"I wonder who I would've gotten swapped with if I'd been around when that happened."

[futaille]

Grantaire nods with a grin. "Much better!"

"Hard to tell. Who would you most like to?"
