Much to his satisfaction, Grantaire has been able to keep up with many of his hobbies unabated during his time at the mansion. Not all of them, though, mostly because they were ones he'd go to specific spots for, and with those spots not being here in addition to an abundance of his other hobbies, they more or less fell by the wayside.

However, a recent chat with Dionysus has reminded him that he has very much neglected his 'hitting things' level. Although he didn't find a crash test dummy, the thought being on his mind ended up in him stumbling upon a small gym tucked away, complete with some equipment including a standing punching bag.

So he's discarded his waistcoat and cravat over a bench and is practicing his savate¹.

¹French kickboxing! During R's time it was basically for streetfighting, and just beginning to get formalized, but there are some cool vintage videos on youtube (Here and here) to give the... vibe.

He laughs. "We are a bold pair indeed."

"I suppose it depends on how one defines a conviction. It could practically be classed as a particularly strong opinion, of which I have several, many in fact related to those pastimes, but on the other hand, how much of a conviction is it when one is perfectly willing to be proven wrong on them?"

[sagramore]

"Oh, we dare some truly shocking things."

[futaille]

"I don't know that many people who know us would actually be all that shocked."

[sagramore]

"I suppose you might have a fraction of a point."

[vineleaves]

He laughs, bending down to tear off the now very deflated sheets and set them to the side. "It's better when it's not on bubble wrap, and I've got the appropriate shoes on, but it was alright, I suppose. I could teach you tap sometime if you'd like. Noisy dancing."

[kadewest]

Kade follows. "Okay," he says. "Lemme run through these kicks once or twice first, make sure I've got 'em."

[futaille]

"It's not that your own point was faulty. Out of the context of it being the two of us, I'm sure that many of our activities are truly shocking."

[futaille]

"Oh, by all means. Practice can hardly hurt."

[sagramore]

"Wild and alarming."

[papadopoulos]

"I think it was a little after your time -- but it's essentially a sport where you throw a ball through a basket mounted on top of a pole. Most of the time, you get two points per basket made, but the points vary on where you are on the court. It's pretty fun; but I haven't really looked for a court for it here yet."

[futaille]

"An excellent motto, I think."

[futaille]

"That is fascinating. How high is the basket mounted?"

[sagramore]

"Grantaire. We need a coat of arms."

[futaille]

"Oh, yes, that's brilliant."

[sagramore]

"We can print it on everything."

[lightbearinglord]

Lan Wangji puts a little effort into controlling his expression, then. Grantaire has begun, almost without warning, to strike him with a sort of subdued but profound sadness. "Not much at all."

[futaille]

"As luck would have it, I enjoy both dancing and noise."

[futaille]

"Precisely. I don't know that I have a temperament suited for much in the way of stone certainty. Dancing on the ever-shifting sands of possibility, on the other hand..."

[vineleaves]

"Perfect! We'll have to do that then. Later though, right now we need to sort out what we're going to use the rest of this bubble wrap for."

[futaille]

"A very protective suit of clothing."

[vineleaves]

"We could wrap one of us up in it and then roll down a hill."

[papadopoulos]

"I think they're around 10 feet off the ground? --Mm. 3 and a half meters? Something like that."

[futaille]

His eyes widen. "What are we waiting for?"

[futaille]

"May I assume the basket has a hole in the bottom, then?"
