Now that things have managed to settle down after the havoc of this month's event from the mansion spirits, Grantaire has set his sights on a much more organic event. He did as promised and improved upon Enjolras' early attempt at a flier. It even passed Apollo's judgment and was printed. So now Grantaire is dutifully walking around the mansion with a stack of fliers to post them in whatever public areas he comes across, even venturing outside to hang them up in outbuildings, and enough were printed that there are plenty of extras to be handed out personally if anyone seems curious.

He's of course sure not everyone will come, but the more people do, the more it will seem right, as far as he's concerned, so he's perfectly willing to pitch the event to anyone who seems the least bit amenable to one. Apparently he can stay on task with proper motivation.

Well, Grantaire is not about to pass up that opportunity. He stretches up a bit to place a quick kiss to the corner of Enjolras' mouth. "Thank you," he says solemnly. "On both counts."

[untamedantinous]

"I am uncertain if a kiss is the proper gift for condolences or congratulations," he replies, just as solemn; but he stretches a little to return the kiss anyway. "Mm. Perhaps I should join you on the floor, this is not very comfortable."

[futaille]

He laughs a little. "What would you say the proper gift is, then? And you are free to join me, although I'm not sure many people would call it comfortable."

[untamedantinous]

"Oh, I do not know. Flowers, perhaps?" He glances at his chair. "Well, you joining me will also not be especially comfortable, this chair is not meant for two."

[futaille]

"Ah, if only I had thought to pick some flowers when I was in the greenhouse. In anticipation for your congratulations and condolences."

[untamedantinous]

"It is a great pity that you cannot predict the future," laughing a little, but he schools himself back to solemnity soon enough.

[futaille]

"I can predict the future in some respects. But it's true, in others I am sorely lacking."

[untamedantinous]

"I suppose you shall have to be content with your kisses, then."

[futaille]

"As luck would have it, I do find myself to be."

[untamedantinous]

"Good." After a moment's pause, he gets up to slide down to the floor, pulling the cushion of the chair with him to settle down on it. "I do think I must congratulate you properly."

[futaille]

Grantaire glances over at him with an amused smile. "Oh, are you giving up on the condolences?" He starts to pick up the dominoes.

[untamedantinous]

"I could do either," he says, a smile threatening to bloom. "Whichever you feel you are most in need of."

[futaille]

"I could make a case either way, but I think I will lean towards congratulations. It was a very well-earned victory, after all. I had quite a clever opponent."

[untamedantinous]

"Mm, yes, an expert at the game, from all I have heard, and a patient teacher as well."

[futaille]

"Oh, expert might be a bit of an overstatement."

[untamedantinous]

"Certainly more expert than I might be. Or, perhaps, anyone here."

[futaille]

"Well, I am slowly working on fixing that."

[untamedantinous]

"Yes, I am aware." He scoots a little closer. "I have, however, been remiss in giving you your proper congratulations." There is a slight hesitation, but he leans in for a more proper kiss this time, a little deeper than their kisses in the past have been. "Mm. There."

[futaille]

After the kiss finishes, he ducks his head a bit, a flush creeping onto his face. "Well. I feel quite congratulated."

[untamedantinous]

"Ah, good." He retreats a bit, watching Grantaire cautiously. "I...mm. Was that too forward?"

[futaille]

He straightens immediately, eyes widening. "What? No, of course not."

[untamedantinous]

"It is only, ah, I am ...usually the one retreating, at such times," he says, a little wryly.

[futaille]

"Hardly a retreat, I assure you. Simply a... tactical pause." His smile borders on sheepish. "You're a wonder that I'm not sure I'll ever quite be sure I deserve."

[untamedantinous]

"I am not a wonder, simply a man," he says, with some finality to it. "If anything, it is --" He huffs out a breath in annoyance, but it is mostly difrected at himself. "I hardly know how to explain it; but I do not -- I am not worth you putting yourself below me. I do not see you as below me, nor should you place yourself there. You are more than that, Etienne."

[futaille]

"We do both sit on the floor," he replies with just a bit of his characteristic wryness returning, "and I do not care to burrow underneath." He leans against Enjolras a bit. "A man can be a wonder. The one does not preclude the other. I do not..." He exhales softly. "I do not see you as any less a man because I admire you so, for all my talk of gods. I think I admire you all the more because you are simply a man, but a man who refused to stand and ignore the cruelties that men are surrounded by."
